The Vision

Michelle Studio is an AI film studio led by a director who does not write code.

A creator from outside the development world, working with AI through natural language alone. It began simply: daily life was crowding out the time to think — and AI gave that space back.

The studio's first AI short film, Not A Cake, was born from that space. It follows K, a man living in a pastel paradise who discovers he was never a person at all — only content, designed to be consumed. As a rain of "like" icons washes over his face and an indifferent viewer swipes him away in three seconds, the film asks what it means to be real in a culture that reduces human experience to a disposable scroll. It won Best Director at a film festival.

At Michelle Studio, thinking comes before the tools. The questions come first — what is worth making, and why it should exist. AI accelerates the execution; the direction always comes from a person.

The studio documents what it means to create with AI as a non-developer on its blog — not about technology, but about how to think through it.

개발 직군이 아닌 창작자가, 오직 자연어만으로 AI를 다룹니다. 시작은 단순했습니다. 반복적인 작업에 잠식되어 가던 '생각할 시간'을 되찾고 싶었고, AI가 그 공간을 돌려주었습니다.

스튜디오의 첫 AI 단편 〈Not A Cake〉는 바로 그 사유에서 태어났습니다. 파스텔빛 낙원에 살던 K가, 자신이 사실은 '소비되기 위해 설계된 콘텐츠'였음을 깨닫는 이야기입니다. 좋아요 아이콘이 얼굴 위로 쏟아지고 무심한 시청자가 3초 만에 그를 스와이프해 넘길 때, 이 작품은 인간의 경험을 일회용 스크롤로 환원하는 문화 속에서 '진짜로 존재한다는 것'이 무엇인지 묻습니다. 이 작품으로 영화제 감독상을 수상했습니다.

미셸 스튜디오는 도구를 다루기 전에 먼저 사유합니다. 무엇을 만들고 싶은지, 왜 그것이 존재해야 하는지를 먼저 묻습니다. AI는 실행에 속도를 더하는 수단일 뿐, 방향은 언제나 사람이 정합니다.
